Welcome to Sustainable Baby Steps

In my years of green living, I've found the simplest, easiest way to help others "go green" is through introducing them to the many uses of essential oils. Want to learn more about how I do that?

Turkey Feather Display

Turkey Feather Display

Take a walk and look for feathers.

You will need:

- Feathers of any kind- turkey, seagull, blue jay, etc.
- A piece of wood. Any kind- branch, driftwood, etc.
- Drill

I like the project because it takes no extra resources to make. It gets kids interested in identifying feathers and makes a pretty display. And it's extremely easy.

Take a walk and collect feathers. This is a great reason to get out and treasure hunt for feathers. Try to identify your feathers. (The ones in the picture are turkey.) Find a piece of wood that you like. Place the piece of wood so that it rests without wobbling too much. Drill holes (about an inch apart or whatever you want) so that you can stick the quills in. Display on a table or windowsill.
