The oils (listed below) have been found to open and soothe the airways and tissues of respiration. They've also been found to combat airborne illnesses that could affect the throat, lungs and chest and so it is often used for indoor air quality as well.

My own personal experience with this oil has been wonderful.

Every spring I suffer from seasonal asthma, where the new growth and warm weather constrict the passageways, making it difficult, uncomfortable and sometimes even painful to breathe deeply. I've tried multiple methods to relieve these symptoms, such as herbs and acupressure, but nothing worked. If you have experienced asthma you know how disconcerting it can feel to not be able to breathe to your fullest ability. I was constantly calming anxiety and stress when these attacks would come on.

Now I just carry Breathe essential oil with me. Just a small amount of this awesome blend and within minutes I'm breathing easily, the symptoms dissipated or dissipating. And it feels great to know that my ability to breathe is within my power again!

The Breathe essential oil blend can only be found through our favorite company, doTERRA. Although you could attempt to collect these oils individually, it's doTERRA's committment to the highest purity and their unique ratios that make this blend so incredible for me. How to Use Breathe Essential Oil

As described, Breathe essential oil is indicated nearly every time the respiratory and your ability to breathe easy is concerned, including asthma, after quitting smoking, bronchitis and more. Use the following ideas to inspire your ability to regain respiratory health and decrease the fear and stress that often accompanies issues like asthma.

aromatic applicationAromatically - Can be diffused in the air or inhaled directly.
topical applicationTopically - Can be applied directly to the skin or within a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, for young or sensitive skin. Start with one drop to 1-3 tsp of carrier oil and increase as needed.
sensitive applicationSensitive - "Sensitive" means tha although some can apply the oil without any dilution, directly to the skin, those with sensitive skin should do a patch test or dilute before use.

Precautions: This potent blend can be irritating to sensitive skin or the the young or very old. I'd recommend diluting it with coconut oil using a minimum ratio of 1:3.

Using Breathe Aromatically

Using a quality diffuser, diffuse Breathe throughout the home during periods of sickness or when asthma attacks are most likely to occur and on a daily basis. Add a drop to pillowcases before bed to ensure more restful sleep and less snoring or add a drop to the shirt collar. For severe cases, add 1-3 drops to a bowl of steaming water, place your head over the bowl and cover with a towel; breathe in the vapor for any condition indicated. If breathing the vapor directly is too much you can also bring a pan of water to a boil with Breathe essential oil added and allow the steam to fill the room with the aroma. For severe chest colds, sit in a bathroom with the doors, windows and vents closed, turn the water on as hot as possible, plug the tub and adding several drops to the bathwater sit in the steam as it fills the room. (Be careful to hold little ones so they don't go playing in the scalding water.)

Using Breathe Topically

Dilute Breathe essential oil as recommended and work into the reflex points of the feet (pads and base of the toes) or directly over the chest, upper back and throat. You may even find it beneficial to add a diluted dab to the nose. Create a hot compress and apply to the chest and throat area. Add several drops to a warm bath or massage into the ears. You can replace a product like Vicks with this blend, as well.
